Omar brings over 2 decades of international experience harnessed in North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle-East and India. He is an expert in strategy and complex projects execution. He has demonstrated experience in turning around low performing companies. He has been the CEO of Air Liquide’s affiliates in the UAE and KSA and a Board Member of MECD in Bahrain.
He started his career in R&D, where he built a solid patent portfolio in the field of advanced process control and artificial intelligence, before moving to business and executive roles with increasing responsibilities. He headed the department of Strategy of Air Liquide Industrial Merchant World Business Line from 2010 to 2013 and was in charge of investment control and M&A.
His areas of intervention include strategy, innovation management, energy transition, market intelligence, business planning, rationalization of industrial operations, cost optimization, business turnarounds, M&A and carveouts.
After his MBA and Master’s degree in Finance from EDHEC Business School in 2003, Ali worked for 10 years in Paris (France) in Strategy and Management consulting firms before cofounding Transengy in Dubaï.
For almost 17 years, he has been assisting Board Members, CEOs and C-Levels in their Digital Transformation and the creation of innovative services. He carried out several projects as Digital Expert, Program Director, Project Manager & Facilitator.
More recently, Ali held the position of "Business Excellence Director" within IQVIA, the largest multinational company serving the combined industries of health information technology (Data science) and clinical research. IQVIA was reported in 2019 to be one of the world's largest contract research organizations.
He mainly works on the following subjects : Innovation, Digital Strategy and Digital Transformation, Project Management, Transformation Programs.
